03 / LITTLE BY LITTLE

A correction today.
A little more
confidence tomorrow.

Some typos have a habit of coming back. Boxy's personal notebook helps you notice them, understand familiar patterns and move on at your own pace.

  • Short before-and-after passages
  • Recurring changes, easy to revisit
  • Local tips for recognized French patterns
  • A “Learned” button for the things you've got

Collected after correction, without another model call. Pause or clear your notebook whenever you like.

French “a” is the verb avoir: try replacing it with “avait”. “à” is a preposition.

A FEW LITTLE QUESTIONS

Curious?
Good.

What do I need to use HeyBoxy?+

A Windows computer, Ollama running locally, a downloaded model and the WebView2 runtime. Start the preview, choose your installed model in Settings, and select some text in a compatible app.

Does it work in any app?+

It works in compatible text fields that support Ctrl+C. Protected fields, apps running as administrator and some editors can block selection capture. The result is plain text, and you paste it yourself.

Does it send my writing to a cloud service?+

The app connects to a loopback Ollama address, normally 127.0.0.1. Choose a model that actually runs on your computer; an Ollama setup that forwards to a cloud model is outside that local workflow. Ollama and your clipboard manager have their own history settings.

What does the learning notebook remember?+

Collection is enabled by default for the Correct action. It stores short changed excerpts locally, with counts and a learned state, up to 200 cards. Those excerpts can contain personal information. You can pause collection or clear the notebook in Settings. Tips describe recognized patterns; model changes can still be wrong or depend on context.

Can I choose my own shortcuts?+

Yes. In Settings → Keyboard shortcuts, choose the modifiers and key for each action. Save to apply immediately, disable direct actions you do not need, or restore the defaults. The menu defaults to Ctrl + Shift + Space.

Is there a Mac version?+

Windows is the current preview platform. macOS is planned, but its capture integration and overlay have not been built and validated on a Mac yet.

Is it open source? Will there be a paid version?+

The public release and licensing direction are still being decided. GitHub is the home for the project. This page does not announce a paid plan or promise a particular future pricing model.

YOUR NEXT SENTENCE IS WAITING.

A little less friction.
A little more you.

YOUR WORDS, WITH CARE

A local
little companion.

The desktop app talks to a loopback Ollama endpoint. Use a genuinely local model to keep processing on your computer.

Settings and the optional-to-disable correction notebook are stored locally. The notebook collects short excerpts by default; pause or clear it in the app. Clipboard history and Ollama logs follow their own settings.

This landing page contains no analytics scripts, account form or payment form. Hosting providers may maintain their own access logs.
